FAQ

🐾 REPET Tofu Cat Litter — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using, storing and getting the best from REPET tofu cat litter. Still stuck? Email repetofficial@gmail.com or join our WhatsApp community.

Using the litter

How much litter should I use?
Pour an even layer of about 4–6 cm (1.5–2.5 in) into a clean, dry litter box. A shallower, even layer clumps and lifts out more cleanly than an over-filled box — and wastes less litter.

How often should I scoop and change it?
Scoop clumps and solids once or twice a day. With regular scooping, a full change is usually needed about once a month. In multi-cat homes or humid weather, change more often to keep it fresh.

Is it really flushable?
Yes. REPET tofu litter dissolves in water, so used clumps can be flushed a small amount at a time down the toilet, or disposed of with general waste / compost. If you have older pipes or a septic system, we recommend binning it instead of flushing.

How do I switch my cat from clay or another litter?
Cats can be fussy about change. Mix a small amount of REPET into their current litter, then gradually increase the REPET proportion over 5–7 days until fully switched. Most cats adjust within a day or two.

Safety & ingredients

Is it safe if my cat licks or eats a little?
REPET is made from food-grade, plant-based ingredients with no artificial colours and no added fragrance, so an accidental nibble while grooming is not toxic. It is not a food and shouldn't be eaten in quantity — contact your vet if your cat ingests a large amount.

What is it actually made of?
Traceable, food-grade raw materials only: high-quality bean & pea fibre (from Yantai Shuangta Food Co.), food-grade cassava starch (sourced from Southeast Asia), and premium food-grade wheat & corn starch (from Shandong, China). Sourcing, origin and supplier details are all traceable.

Is it low-dust? Does it track?
Yes — REPET is 99.9% dust-free, so cleaner air for you and your cat. The pellet shape also means very low tracking compared with fine clay or crystal litters.

Is it suitable for kittens?
Yes. Because it's plant-based and non-toxic, it's a safer choice for curious kittens who tend to taste-test their litter. As with any litter, supervise very young kittens.

Storage & performance

How should I store it and how long does it last?
Store in a dry, ventilated place and use within the 2-year shelf life. Use opened bags as soon as possible to maintain optimal performance.

My litter clumps less well — what happened?
If tofu litter is kept in high-humidity, poorly ventilated environments (underground spaces, seasonally humid indoor rooms, or coastal areas), its odour absorption and clumping can be compromised. Store it dry and ventilated, clean the litter box more frequently on rainy or high-humidity days, and use it soon after opening for best results.

How is it made?
On a fully automated production line with an integrated control system for stable, consistent quality. Powdered raw materials are converted into uniform pellets using a Bühler Ring Die Pellet Mill (Swiss manufacturing technology), with uniform mixing equipment ensuring consistent pellet quality batch to batch.
